Ted and Fred (2019) 8" x 12"

Introducing Ted and Fred - one of the Beer Guppies created for the  Clean Lakes Alliance Benefit at Waypoint Public House featuring Delta Beer Lab. Beer Guppies are groovy, pop,  burning fuse and acrylic paintings made on coated paper. Each has their own personality.  As a group they are a blast!

These fishy, pop, paintings were inspired by Stick’s Mom’s bathroom wallpaper from 1953. All of the guppies names were created from popular baby names from that same year.

Each exploded guppy is for sale for $160. (Delivery, if needed, is billed separately at cost.)

$125 of each sale will go to the Clean Lakes Alliance..

Beer Guppies will be on display until May 18th and can be picked up at Waypoint Public House after that date.

You may contact Stick if you have questions.  stickvig@gmail.com

17 x 13 black wooden frame with glass and 2-inch white mat.

Primitive, modern, and abstract - a Stick Vega original.

American gunpowder artist, Vega places powder and fuses on the surface of the board, which he positions horizontally on the floor. When ignited, first the fuses burns instantly along the cord lines, igniting the gunpowder and creating loud bangs and flashes of fire, which then vanish in clouds of smoke. The result is a textured surface that looks and feels like an explosion—the acrylic paint on panel is blackened, charred, and erupted, arrested in a state of being created in a flash.

When the fuse is lit there a moment of uncertainty. What will happen? It is at that moment that true art exists.
