The Vig Company To Publish DRIFTLESS
The Vig Company announced today that it will publish DRIFTLESS, a new country-noir thriller by Stick Vega set deep in the shadowed hills, rivers, and hidden places of Wisconsin’s Driftless region. Founded in 2009 and working out of Madison, Viroqua, and Chicago, The Vig Company has long supported Vega’s creative work—from his explosive large-scale artworks to his earlier photo-driven book Less Killing and multiple screenplay projects—and will now oversee the printing (through books.by), promotion, marketing, and distribution of DRIFTLESS. The novel follows Leo North, a former bomb maker trying to live quietly above a small-town garage with his sheltie, Buck, until a powerful figure begins trying to wake something ancient beneath the Driftless hills—and Leo becomes the only person who can stop it.
With its mix of rural suspense, dark humor, and a distinctly Midwestern sense of place, DRIFTLESS marks a new chapter for both Vega and The Vig Company, whose creative and investment divisions continue to support independent storytelling across formats. Readers can expect bluffs, coulees, river towns, and a growing sense that the land itself is watching what happens next. As always, The Vig Company’s goal is simple: make bold work, back it properly, and get it into readers’ hands—especially the ones who know the Driftless isn’t just scenery. It’s a force.
The Vig Company is an independent creative and investment firm founded in 2009.
